Season 1 Episode 3 - The Whore of Babylon
At a book signing, Hank gets into a scrap with the disgruntled director of the film based on his novel, and later runs into a woman whom he embarrassed and insulted on a blind date; Mia attempts to steal some of Hank's work to use for her high-school creative-writing class.
Season 1 Episode 2 - Hell-A Woman
Hank begins his blogging job at Hell-A-Magazine. Karen is able to set Hank up with her friend Sonja by disguising the get together as a family dinner. At dinner, Becca reveals how Hank met Karen.

Marcy

Fresh off a stint in rehab, Marcy Runkle is still a woman who never minces words. Reluctantly, she has allowed her soon-to-be-ex-husband to move back in while they sort out the details of their pending split. Pamela AdlonActor BioPamela Adlon's diverse career spans the gamut of film and television projects and includes an Emmy® Award for "Outstanding Voice-Over Performance" for her work as awkward middle schooler 'Bobby Hill' on the hit animated series King of the Hill. In addition to shooting the third season CALIFORNICATION, she is currently voicing the role of 'Vidia' in the upcoming Tinker Bell movies. She starred opposite Louis C.K. on the comedy series Lucky Louie. Adlon recently had recurring roles on Boston Legal and The Wedding Bells; and the Steven Soderbergh and George Clooney series Unscripted.
Adlon has been acting since age 12, making her film debut in Grease 2 with Michelle Pfeiffer. Additional feature credits include Say Anything..., Bed of Roses, Sgt. Bilko, The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, Eat Your Heart Out, Plump Fiction and Some Girl. Adlon's extensive voice work includes the animated features The Animatrix, Vampire Hunter D, Kiki's Delivery Service, Recess: School's Out, Trumpet of the Swan and Brother Bear and numerous animated children's television shows including Squirrel Boy, Jakers! Charlie

Hank's best friend and agent once lived life on the straight and narrow path. Becca

Madeleine Martin Actor BioMadeleine Martin captured Broadway's attention when, at age seven, she starred in the Broadway National Tour of The Sound of Music, with Richard Chamberlain. At the age of ten, she received rave reviews for her performance in the title role of A Day in the Death of Joe Egg. Her performance was so heartbreakingly stunning that she was invited to be the youngest presenter in its history at the 2003 Tony® Awards. Next, Martin starred in Martin McDonough's The Pillowman. Hank Moody

Life has been a rocky road of ups and downs for Hank Moody since the famed novelist & NYC transplant relocated to Los Angeles. He suffered through a terrible case of writer's block, major plagiarism, and Hollywood's crappy adaptation of his prized tome. But just as he got back on track penning the memoirs for a rock music legend, his biography subject overdosed – leaving Hank scrambling once again. Now he's doing the best he can to raise a teenage daughter on his own while trying to resist temptation as a new writing professor at a local university. Duchovny added the role of director to his already extensive list of accomplishments when he wrote, directed and starred in two critically acclaimed episodes of The X-Files, titled "The Unnatural" and "Hollywood A.D." About the series
The series revolves around Hank Moody, a charming ladies' man of a writer and novelist plagued by personal demons. He blames his years-long case of writer's block on a variety of reasons, ranging from the hedonism of Los Angeles, to his girlfriend Karen leaving him. Hank constantly deals with the consequences of his lack of will to say "no" to available drugs, sex and alcohol, while trying to show his family that he can be a good, responsible caring father to Becca and a monogamous partner to Karen
